Politics, power, and a cliffhanger that broke me. Read my Season 3 thoughts on The Diplomat.
It’s one of those rare cases when a sequel is far better than the first book. This is my personal opinion. Maybe because I was already familiar with the characters, my initial complaint about the first book is now moot.
This time, the Thursday Murder Club finds itself entangled in a dangerous web of stolen diamonds, old secrets, and unexpected betrayals. Sure, there are clichés, but they are to be expected in a cozy mystery. The pacing is improved, and the story, along with character development, will immerse you in it. The twist was quite clever! Each of the four major characters now holds a special place in my heart. It makes you wish you had such good friends with you when you reached their age, and they would equally solve murder cases with you!
